all these heady talks and complaints of linux and rosegarden have me confused.

any rosegarden users running it on a mac platform or better yet, running linux on a mac and using rosegarden.

i've been searching forums trying to find help applying real-time patches to a ppc distro (any flavor would work for me) or maybe that's not even necessary?

i see those latency issues discussed and i have flashbacks to olden days.

while garageband is limiting, i don't want to lose the ability to use my laptop and pc as a trusty keyboard with the lads.

i've read the discussion the past few days, but it's admittedly WAY over my head.

Makes me wonder what distro are you using? I also used to struggle with
Linux audio and tweaking countless hours to get things work. At one point
I decided to wait until some distro has at least the basic alsa setup done
right so I don't have to get into that. All I have currently 'tweaked' is
the realtime-lsm installed from the distros' own repository and compiled
the kernel on my own.

I suggest that you wait that some distro has it done right (I guess the
CCRMA has the best shot at the moment), preferably if they have livecd to
try it before having the trouble of installing new system to harddisk.

Should find real errors in those 5 minutes, but you do leave your computer
at some point to go to sleep etc., just let it run overnight if you want
to be sure.
