Trying to insert a triplet into an area not followed by
silence produces some disagreeable results.

Without looking at the source ( I don't speak c++ ) I'd
guess that there's an algorythm somewhere that ought to
be quicker than it is to start thinking in terms of the
computed length of the triplets rather than the initially
indicated length.
