I am located in Oregon, Wisconsin, a small town just south of Madison.
I am an old fart, and a retired lawyer. I have some programming
experience, now long obsolete, have served on a number of standards
committees, have been a speaker at Networld, Comdex, Computers
Freedom&Privacy Conference, and have consulted on technology. I am
interested in copyright and open source issues.
Rolodap was originally developed by Dan Freed who was an employee of my
former law firm. I supported his effort and encouraged the firm to open
source the result.
I am interested in seeing Rolodap develop in several ways:
1) I would like to see its schema become more standardized and more
flexible (which may seem a bit contradictory)
2) I would like to see it become easier to install and use.
3) I would like to see it better able to interact with other programs
like OpenOffice and emailers. Many seem to see a need to include a
directory/addressbook with their emailer or wordprocessor. I would like
Rolodap to be flexible enough to meld in with other products and become
4) I am a big LDAP fan and I would like for Rolodap to increase the
number of developers familiar with LDAP
And...I'd like it to be a fun project for evryone to work on.
