On Slackware 9.1 using df 5.0/awk 3.1.3,
check_free_space in misc_utils.c returns the space
*used*, not the space available.

$ df -k ~/music | awk '{print }'

$ df -k ~/music

    the 2.6.5 and later releases use "df -P", which should
    resolve this issue for you
