Im not proud of it but I run a mac at work and have
been put in charge to record some seminars. I'd like to
use rezound but these seminars vary in location and
hauling my entire desktop is a pain. So I thought I'd
look around and no decent GPL OS X apps for audio
recording, and I love Rezound on my GNU/Linux machines.

What are the chances of getting rezound running on OS X?

Well, I've been told that OS X has an X11 library. (What's
the name?) I haven't been able to get access to a machine
with this on it, but I have ported ReZound to BSD so it
    really shouldn't be that hard.

BTW- I have some work to do on recording. I would suggest
actually using sox's 'rec' command to do the recording (or
some other app) and then you can use ReZound for editing.
ReZound (at least on my machine) has some problems doing
    long recordings.

I plan to address this issue before the next release.

I used to use the Linux version of ReZound actively and take part in suggesting
several features to it. Nowdays I don't have that much free time anymore
because I'm working full-time (and then some). But because of this, I do actually
have some money, so I bought a Mac :-)

So... If there's any activity going on on the OS X front, I'd be really interested. I
don't have the time or patience to start fighting with building it myself anymore,
but I'd be glad to test ready builds a lot! :-)

    Cheers!

The bulk of any OS/X support is completely the GUI. The
backend probably already works--as I have tested on BSD and
    many people use it.

With the frontend being the hurdle.. one solution is to use
the X11 libs and ReZound's FOX frontend. However, lately
I've been considering porting ReZound (permenantly) to
either QT or GTK++. I haven't made a decision yet. Does
anyone know whether QT or GTK support is better on OS X?

    Thanks,
    Davy
