Since my internal DVD drive is broken, I'm using an external USB CD/DVD drive, but no matter what CD I use it wont show up in the rEFIt interface. I've tried both original and installations CD's burned from ISO images, so nothing should be wrong with the CD's. The only options that show up in the list is the OS X and legacy options, no CD's.

The rEFIt documentation says Macs usually can't boot legacy OS's (Linux/Windows) from USB/Firewire hard drives. I guess this includes USB CD/DVD drives.

The MacBook Air can boot Windows from USB CD drive (because that's the only option for installing Windows on the MacBook Air) but I think it's a strange case. People are unable to boot Windows from USB after they install Windows to the hard drive from some unknown reason.

I am having the same problem with a Macbook Pro 2011. Partitions created in OSX and I inserted Windows 7 install CD in the internal DVD drive then rebooted. No matter what I do rEFIt won't recognize the DVD. I've re-burned the DVD several times to no avail. Any ideas?
