While on the rEFIt OS select screen, the fans on the laptop ramp up as far as they will go. The case is burning hot to the touch. i have not tested much in this state as i am afraid of damage to the equipment.

MacBookPro1,1 (Intel Core Duo 2.16GHz, 2GB DDR2)
rEFIt v0.14

I guess there's no power management while running in EFI so there is no fan control. That's why the fans are running fast but if the fans are running fast, then why is the laptop hot? Shouldn't the fans cool the laptop?

Do you get the same affect if you go to Apple's Boot menu (called the Startup Manager) first?

If not, then maybe there's a way to make rEFIt behave the same way...
