I have an enconding problem when i am importing a bibtex entry. Apostrophes are little strange square once the import is done.
Do anybody have any idea ?
Have you tried importing the data to one of the public refbase servers (demo.refbase.net, for example)? If that works, the most likely issue is that the character encoding is not set appropriately on your server.
I found this problem also with RIS import
That one surprises me: I thought we had native RIS import.
I found those characters today, but I do not know the reason.
I imported the records only with RIS or I added them with Add Record.
Any Idea how to search for these characters in the complete database?
Maybe I could find out where they are coming from.
You could copy & paste the character into the search box.
The current version of bibutils will convert the apostrophe to that multi-byte character unless you use the '-x' or '-nl' arguments in your bib2xml call. I haven't figured out why or what should be happening. Depending on the other BibTeX files you wish to bring in, it might be the case that your input would work if you'd use one of those command line arguments.
