Hope you are not getting sick of my silly questions yet....b/c here's a couple more:
I would rather that the call_number field NOT have the institution abbreviation@email user name@ID# data included. But when I looked around on this site I found: "This field is controlled (and automatically filled) by refbase on edit." Does this mean I can get rid of all but the ID# or not?
Also, I would like to not have the User's name & email address when an import is done (only one person will be doing the importing) or when a user adds it to their personal literature data set (researcher doesn't require this information). Other than removing it after the fact, is there any way to not have location field completed in this way at import or by refbase when others add the record to their personal data set?
Thanks again for your help and knowledge. Ya'll have been a huge help to me and getting through this project. I just wish we could do something about the biggest problem I'm running into: the garbage in, garbage out syndrome!! Thanks again.

Keep them coming

Refer to these treads:
> Does this mean I can get rid of all but the ID# or not?
It means you can, but it isn't recommended. Many of my references were directly imported into MySQL & I was not careful to preserve this and no functionality that I uses breaks. But you should be aware that refbase still occasionally assumes that your data is formatted a particular way & oddness may occur if your data doesn't conform.

Again, you can do it. You can modify that import code to not complete this field. But it is not suggested.
