When using refbase I ran into the following issue with internet explorer:
Here is what you do:
Go to http://demo.refbase.net/
Click on simple search.
In the Author text box type in 'John'. Submit.
Click on the '2' on the bottom to display the results from page 2.
Press the back button in internet explorer 6.
We get the "The page cannot be displayed error."
In firefox you are prompted to resubmit the post data and page 1 is displayed.
For internet explorer, is there any way to display this page or be prompted for the post data like in firefox?
One more thing, while looking through the list of organizations who use refbase, I found one whose website does not display this error: http://celida.oceanlibrary.org/refs/
I can't replicate the error on demo.refbase.net or other sites. I suppose that you might have problems if something is limiting the size of your queries. Are you running any internet security software/firewall that may do this? Or is there a setting in the Advanced or Security tab of internet options that might be screwing things up?
I tried (and failed) to replicate with: IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254 on Windows XP Pro SP2 (fully patched).
Hi, FYI:for the next version, I've changed the refbase forms from POST to GET where possible, and I've made efforts to reduce the size of refbase URLs. This should avoid the dialog about re-submitting POST data in Firefox, and it might also help with your IE issue.
