I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that I, as nominal maintainer of Net::ICal, don't have the tuits to do regular releases. My day job is keeping me very busy and shows no signs of abating. I'd be happy to see someone with experience step forward to be CPAN maintainer of the code, so patches can get applied and released in a timely fashion. If you've never maintained a CPAN module but are willing to learn, I'd be happy to provide some guidance. I get the sense that the OSX-using Perl community has more use for Net::ICal than I do in my daily life, and until I get an OSX box they're more likely to be good maintainers. It seems that, for me, the headache of being the Official Maintainer is overriding my interest in patching and doing releases. I'll also happily take motivational speeches about why I should keep the maintainership. :) Other than that, one issue I've heard from a lot of people is that the current Net::ICal codebase, particularly its dependence on the uncommon Class::MethodMapper, is rather baroque. If anyone has patches that make the code easier to understand and maintain, I'd love to see them. (Particularly if you'd like to be the new maintainer.) srl -- Shane R.
