    Hello
    Another problem with the gtk-recordMyDesktop program.
    It seems to require a python module named egg.trayicon but I can't seem to find that.  Anybody got a link to that ?

    [~]$ gtk-recordMyDesktop
    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "/usr/bin/gtk-recordMyDesktop", line 30, in ?
        from recordMyDesktop import rmdSimple
      File "/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/recordMyDesktop/rmdSimple.py", line 38, in ?
        from rmdTrayIcon import *
      File "/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/recordMyDesktop/rmdTrayIcon.py", line 40, in ?
        import egg.trayicon
    ImportError: No module named egg.trayicon

    • The name of the package is gnome-python-extras.

      If it doesn't exist in your distribution, you can get the source
      and compile from here:
      http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gnome-python-extras/
      The required module(egg.trayicon) is pretty easy to build
      and doesn't have many dependencies.

      I'm using version 2.14.2. According to the changelogs, 2.14.3
      will keep raising a deprecation warning about egg.trayicon,
      while this warning was removed in 2.19.1. Anyway, try to install
      the latest possible(if there are any dependencies blocking you
      from obtaining 2.19.1).

      You could also try to install (py)gtk-2.10, which has a tray icon of
      it's own but that will be a lot more difficult and might cause problems,
      so I don't suggest it.

      John.-
