I have a quick question. What --zero-compression and --quick-subsampling mean? What happens under the hood and how would that effect my performance?
One issue I have with record my desktop is sometimes on recordings longer the 10 - 15 minutes my audio and video goes out of sync. Is there something I can do to correct that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's very frustrating when I have to adjust audio in post processing of my tutorials.
I use this command line to record my desktop:
recordmydesktop -fps 29.97 -width 800 -height 608 -x 2064 -y 128 --on-the-fly-encoding -device plughw:Headset,0
For those who use cinelerra I found re-sampling ogg (vorbis/theora) to mjpeg and wav work best for me. I use
ffmpeg -i out.ogg final.wav
ffmpeg -i out.ogg -an -vcodec mjpeg -sameq final.mov
ffmpeg -i out.ogg -vcodec mjpeg -sameq -acodec pcm_s16le final.mov
to encode my recordings for use in cinelerra. Any tips or tricks for re-sampling for cinelerra are welcome.
