I'm sorry, I just realized I wasn't subscriber of this list, so I left many messages without answers. Unfortunatly, none of us have enough time to keep on programming RTB. I do some minor modification from time to time, but it doesn't really lead to anything. The last release (1.0.5) is 2 years old, and I don't know how long it would take to come to the version 2. Was it really a good idea to split the two projects so quickly. And as say Alejandro, does it worth it to have so many options : every programmer will aim his robot to his preferred configuration and fewer opponents will be available So I would like to have users opinion on this point : Would it be better to add only some few improvement or try to keep on programming this new huge version ? (What I wanted to do a RTB v2 with the new class structure but with nothing more than RTB v1 (a minimal version of RTBv2), but I don't know if it is a good idea) I don't know if it is possible to create a monthly pool like in freeciv. This will help 'players' to get involved in RTB, and help us to know what is really needed ! So as long as I don't know how to do it automaticly, I will do it using mails or news. For the developpers point of view, I think It is that a documentation will help new programmers to get into RTB code instead of figuring out by themself how it works. It's a real pain in the ... for me, still after 2 years. And don't worry, RealTimeBattle will survive!!! Benoit |
