Hi, [I also posted this to comp.mail.pine and slightly edited it/cleaned it up when I mailed it to the mailing list] I reported this in comp.mail.pine quite a while back (long ago that it has spooled off my newsserver) on (probably) alpine 1.00 and it also happened on alpine 1.10. I recently discovered alpine has been picked up on sourceforge, and has been renamed to 're-alpine'. Hoping this bug was fixed, I downloaded the re-alpine 2.01 source package, and compiled it. The bug is still there. It happens when I select an attachment for viewing (be it a gif, jpg, or for instance a PDF). re-alpine shows in the console: [Displaying attachment ] (sometimes with 'DONE' even), and the external viewer is started up. However, that's also when it hangs. I can still type text in the console, but no reaction anymore. Only by kill-ing the alpine binary can I end it. Looking at the .pine-debug1 file left, I see: ----- MAIL VIEW ----- MAIL_CMD: going to attachment screen mt_browse: FAILED open(/etc/mime.types) : No such file or directory. mt_browse: FAILED open(/usr/local/lib/mime.types) : No such file or directory. about to end_tty_driver ** Received SIGTERM ** fast_clean_up() - completely_done_with_adrbks - [rest deleted] Any (quick) way to fix this? This bug is preventing me to move to any version of alpine, so I'm still stuck with pine 4.64, since that does not have this bug.... Regards, Patrick. |
