regarding this thread from 2 months ago, was the problem solved for anyone? i'm trying '-5' against a win2k server in application mode and am getting the usual "ERROR: recv: Connection reset by peer" error and the following gets logged in the event viewer of the terminal server: The RDP protocol component "DATA ENCRYPTION" detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client. if i connect to the same server without '-5', i can login ok so it's not a licensing issue, afaict. the remote server has medium encryption enabled, and i tried connecting with '-E' with the same results. connecting to all of the other win2k servers here with '-5' works fine, however, these are all in administrative mode, not application mode, if that has anything to do with it. this is with a snapshot pulled from cvs a few minutes ago. |

I got so far that I tried connecting to a Win2k server with this problem and if I remember correctly (this was in June), the licensing data of the server was different from the format rdesktop is used to, which somehow messed up stuff. I didn't have time then to investigate enough to solve the problem, and I don't think I'll have the time now either. In order to solve this problem we'd need someone that allows connections to their win2k server for a developer that can sniff the traffic and find out what's wrong. Please note: the devloper won't need login access, since the problem occurs _before_ the login window appears. \EF -- Erik Forsberg Telephone: +46-13-21 46 00 Cendio Systems Web: http://www.cendio.se |
