I can't reproduce this on a Debian testing system with
xserver-xorg 7.0.22 (which is the same version as unstable).
Unfortunately I don't have a Debian unstable system handy.
Can I get any more information, like the X driver you are
using and the output of xdpyinfo? Can you perhaps try
compiling with gcc-4.0 instead of gcc 4.1 ?

(If anyone else is having this problem, please feel free to
add to this report as well.)

I get the same error message and im using Ubuntu 6.06 and
    X.Org 7.0.0Ubuntu45(dapper)

Altough I have a cinerama set up and if i disable the second
screen (comment out it in xorg.conf) it starts.

If I understand correctly, that's a xdpyinfo with Xinerama
is off and rdesktop works. Right?

Ilya: It looks like Xinerama is on... the dimensions are
    3200x1200, which is presumably 2x1600x1200.

Please try the current cvs head.
I committed a change to xwin.c yesterday (revision 1.211) which could fix this.
