It is clear jack is not starting.
    1) did you start Lingot first before Rakarrack?
    >If you did, it probably used an alsa or oss interface or so and has taken control of the sound card jack should use.
    2) Maybe the installation for Lingot package modifies jackd settings?  This seems unlikely.

I think you should use qjackctl to better configure and start jack.  Once jack is running properly, then you can start Rakarrack and Lingot and make whatever connections you need.

What I see from the way you start Rakarrack is you probably just start the program and perhaps rely on default jack configuration to successfully start jack.  If something prevents jack from starting, then you will not have any rakarrack, and you will not have sound coming from it.

    Try this:
    Start qjackctl.
Press the start button and make sure it starts up.
    start rakarrack
Make sure inputs and outputs are connected
    Start Lingot
Make sure Lingot's input is connected.

    Have fun!

If that doesn't help, you will need to do some more reading about to learn more about jack audio connection kit.  If you don't know jack, then you will have these kinds of problems from time to time if one program or program configuration changes the way it connects to jack.
