First, thanks everyone for the help, it IS helping me progress! Home page shows but click a tab and get an error - working on this. This is a bit long, sorry for that ahead of time! :) I think that issues with upgrades might be important to someone else and this might be useful in a final release phase to capture and/or address. I realize that I am stepping my install forward quite a bit here on versions. OK, Thanks, this information regarding the logs was useful - probably good to add a note about the log folder in the release notes. Note: Elaborate and hightlight that logs exist to help debug stuff. Note: Need permissions on folders, what folders exactly and what permissions levels they are required to have and for what users on the system. I did not know about the log folder, that is apparently new since my last upgrade pass. Thanks for that. This was partially a permissions issue with the folders that are present. I fixed that by adding permissions at a very broad level (this box is behind a firewall and I could do that) Also noted that the SQL contraints in the Articles sql install do NOT get applied during the upgrade process. There are probably others that need looked at as well. (see my note below regarding Survey and Milestones) To clarify, my layouts and themes did NOT overlay the default ones, but were some that I had created and were in separate folders. It might be worth a note somewhere on how to change these in the database (assigned layout and theme) in a current installation in case one in use is not compatible with the new code base so someone could get "something" active on an upgrade. (Mine were pretty standard but others might not be) Thanks for the updated .zip on themes and layout! I tried some (Default incuded) by modification of my PortalSettings table. This worked OK except that when Module titles are long in Admin mode, the title wrap makes it look funny (end graphics not sized with text wrap part...) Issues: 1. SQL Contstraints issues (see above) 2. Permissions on folders (Note in install/upgrade documentation) 3. Now got stuff on my home page but click ANY tab and get an error (see below) still working on this one... 4. rb_Articles table - previous version(s) allowed NULL in the Subtitle column. Error after the upgrade on the line in Articles.ascx line 13 ( <asp:Label id=SubTitle Text='<%# "(" + DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"SubTitle") + ")" %>' Visible='<%# ((string)DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"Subtitle")).Length > 0 %>' runat="server"/>) with a cast error I removed the NULL on all the Subtitle columns and that seemed to fix this but the table column says NULL is allowed. This is readily reproducable when I set the column back to NULL again. Here are the gritty details of that: ------------ Specified cast is not valid. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
