With the following declaration in qwtconfig.pri QWT_INSTALL_PREFIX could be set as command line parameter of qmake:

isEmpty(QWT_INSTALL_PREFIX) {
QWT_INSTALL_PREFIX = ...
}

A similar declaration should be done for all build options of qwtconfig.pri.

Maybe a different way can be found to avoid, that qwtconfig.pri gets confusing because if cryptic qmake syntax.

    qwtconfig.pri is not only used for building qwt - it gets also installed together with qwt.prf, so that the build options are available in the application prject file with "CONFIG += qwt".

    By setting options as command line parameters qwt.prf would include wrong values to the application makefiles.
