This was also easy, it's also on svn.

Part of the probem is the fact that csound is running in the same
thread as QuteCsound. Unfortunately, running csound in a different
thread is currently not working on Mac. I hope to fix this soon. The
widgets and realtime events are processed every control period, so if
you increase the control period size, you can improve performance.
Adding the line:
ksmps = 512
at the start of your csd greatly improves performance in my case.
