I report a bug consisting in random crashes during the usage of CsoundQT v.0.7.0 Alpha (for ex. after minimizing or pressing Alt+Tab, after playing a .csd file, etc.) with Csound 5.18. I'm running it on Windows XP Home SP3 and the Event Log doesn't report any application or system error.
How to solve it? Waiting for more informations.

Discussion

  • Post Scriptum:
I have checked now that CsoundQT 0.7.0 crashes for sure, at least in this worksession, pressing Alt+Tab or Ctrl+Alt+Del during a .csd file running; the application crashes after the run is over.

I suspect this has to do with conflicts with FLTK. The problem can be solved by making sure no plugins that use FLTK are loaded (libwidgets, libfluidsynth and libvirtual), by moving them out of the plugins directory.

  • Ok thanks, I'll move these files out of Csound's plugins directory. Anyway, classical widgets like sliders or knobs work in the same way without FLTK files?

They will not work unfortunately as they depend on those plugins. You could copy all the plugins except the FLTK ones to a different directory and set opcode dir in the environment
