Am I right in assuming that QuickFIX/J supports, to some extent, custom application messages as outlined in the FIXT 1.1 spec? It looks like that I can't assign a default DefaultCstAppVerId to the session, but I can specify a CstmAplVerID in a message header. It appears that unless I specify a default application data dictionary, QuickFIX/J when it encounters the CstmAplVerID will attempt to load a data dictionary with a file name like <AplVerID>_<CstmAplVerID>.xml eg FIX50_TR01.xml. I'm guessing in my example that MessageCracker will dispatch any FIX50 messages appropriately, and the custom messages will be dispatched on the general OnMessage(). Is this about right or do I still need to setup some codegen task? I'll probably be in a position to check this all out next week, but any confirmation that I'm right or wrong in my assumptions or pointers to information I've missed would save me some time which is in short supply right now.
