    I connected an inductor as load for a half wave rectifier. But simulation did not complete for a long time. i even tried various inductance values. then i connected a resistor of a few hundred ohms. Now the expected output was obtained. Why is this? Does it mean that everytime I connect an inductor A resistor should be in parallel?

     
  • Hello jayarams. we must first know that Qucs an inductor L is ideal, it shows when you open the configuration window of the inductor. This means that no ohmic resistance associated. On the other hand, it is important to know which method of numerical solution is configured.
