    I apologize if this question is too trivial…

    On http://qucs.sourceforge.net/tech/node50.html it says that a transformer's turn ratio is proportional to the square root of the inductance ratio.

    I would have thought it is equal to the inductance ratio. Assuming that all the turns are identical, their equal inductances are in series and add.

    What am I missing?
