Test bed: Debian GNU/Linux unstable (2.4.9) XFree 4.1.0 w/ latest matrox DRI drivers Matrox G400 SB Live! I grabbed the quakeforge-current.tar.gz and built .deb's from it: *** quakeforge-alsa_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-common_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-dev_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-glx_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-libs-gl_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-libs-sw_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-oss_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-sdl_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-servers_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-sgl_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-svga_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge-x11_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb quakeforge_0.5.1-0cvs20011015_i386.deb *** But for some reason, when i start qw-client-<any>, it says Could not load plugin "/usr/lib/quakeforge/libsnd_output_null.so": /usr/lib/quakeforge/libsnd_output_null.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Loading of sound output module: null failed! This seems to me that qw-client is - for some odd reason - trying to load a non-existent null sound driver. Which, even it existed, isn't at all what i'd want it to do. This is especially odd, since after running ./configure, i get: -clip- QuakeForge has been configured successfully. -clip- Sound support : DISK OSS SDL -clip- It seems that it builds all these sound modules (there are libsnd_output_oss.* and libsnd_output_disk.* files in /usr/lib/quakeforge) but doesn't use any of them. After quick search I couldn't find a way to tell qw-client to use these modules, anyone could help me on this? And btw, have you planned on officially releasing any .debs out of quakeforge? (NOT the ones in stable dist, 0.1.1 version) Atte Peltomäki |
