Qtractor 0.5.7 crashes when adding a plugin and having the Plugin window to scan the different plug-in types. I've added a gdb backtrace. This is what I did:
create a new audio track
open the mixer
add a plugin
scan for plugins (LADSPA, DSSI, VST and LV2)
* scan for (any) plugins

I've seen this behavior with earlier svn revisions too.

Jeremy

  • scanning some native VST plugins are still problematic, specially ones based on juce. load and unloading those in in quick succession leaves the plugin framework (juce) in a undefined doomed/zombie state and crash prone the one show.

    historically, to mitigate this there's View/Options..../Plugins/Dummy VST plugin scan option which is recommended set on--note that it's said that to mitigate, not a real solution :/

    also, avoid using the "(Any)" plugin type search option--even though you've turned the mitigate option on.

  • I always have Dummy VST plugin scan option activated. But if it's related to VST's then I'll check which ones are causing the trouble and take them out. I barely use native VST's anyway.
