Would be great to be able to export a rough mix of midi instruments + audio without any awkward routing and self-recording required. Export faster than playback should be possible.
Starting from v0.6.7, audio track export (Track/Export Tracks/Audio...) has been deeply refactored to finally include MIDI track/instrument plugins rendering (aka. freeze) on selected audio output buses on mix-down.

Yes, this is something I'm keen to see get improved too as I agree it's chore right now and a potential big off-put to many.
As for 'exporting faster than playback', I've already asked about that and you can read Rui's full response here:

In a nutshell we're unlikely to see it any time soon as it requires JACK MIDI and hence a significant rewrite of core qtractor code.
Tickets 7 and 8 should help reduce the burden of bouncing tracks but there is likely more that could be done too.
