in older versions there were only two tabs on the connections window,
separating system and MIDI devices. Now there are three tabs separating
also MIDI from ALSA-MIDI devices.
The first thing is, I do not understand why MIDI and ALSA-MIDI devices
are separated. Can someone explain, what is the background of this
The second issue caused by this design is, there seems not to be any
option to connect MIDI devices to ALSA-MIDI devices. I tried to
"cross-tab" connect two devices but this was not possible neither using
the connections window nor using the patchbay.
Just to give others experimental background with the last issue I like
to describe what I did:
1) Load qjackctl/jack (qjackctl current cvs)
2) Load qsynth -> is listed on ALSA tab page
3) Load jack-keyboard (http://pin.if.uz.zgora.pl/~trasz/jack-keyboard/)
-> is listed on MIDI tab page
4) No option to connect jack-keyboard output to qsynth input.
If I run "vkeybd", its device is also listed on the ALSA page, so no
issue occurs to get it connected to qsynth.
Any ideas about that?
