Hi, the install script does precisely what was intended by the authors. We want to place some data to a shared data directory /usr/local/share/ pyx and we also want to create a systemwide pyxrc at /etc/pyxrc. While those locations can be altered by some options to the setup.py script, they are very reasonable defaults. I don't know why distutils does not properly support such install locations by default. Does somebody know any better?
