PySnapshot 0.2.3.1 released

PySnapshot 0.2.3.1, a bug fix to 0.2.3 was released today. This fixes a small but annoying bug in the space making routine (which the oldest snapshots are deleted to make space for the current day's).

PySnapshot is a flexible, reliable and quality backup program based on the principle of file system snapshots and hard links. Features include email notification, extensive error handling, robustness, detailed logging, flexible exclude list, ease of use.

PySnapshot 0.2.2 released

PySnapshot 0.2.2 has been released. PySnapshot is full-fledged backup solution inspired by rsnapshot and written in Python. PySnapshot includes email notification of errors, verbose logging, extensive error handling, space making routine, ability to exclude select files and dirs from backup (with globbing support), and other quality features.

This release fixes all known bugs identified since the release of 0.1. PySnapshot is still in beta testing, but this release moves it much closer to production readiness.... read more

PySnapshot 0.1 Released

PySnapshot 0.1, a snapshot-based backup program, inspired by rsnapshot but written in Python, has been released. This is the first release. The program is not recommended for production use, but it is certainly ready for beta testing. Feedback, feature requests and bug reports are welcome. PySnapshot has a long list of useful features: please download and give it a try.
