I just checked in gldnspud/djlib/TODO.txt into the 'sandbox' module in
PyPerSyst's CVS repository.
It describes in some detail the ideas that have come forth in my mind from
working on the djlib example app, having conversations with Pat O'Brien, and
perusing the 'Naked Objects' resources that Pat posted to the list a few days
djlib is a simple music library app "for DJ's" that I am building to learn
more about PyPerSyst, refresh my object modelling skills, and implement
prototypes of things that might eventually become part of PyPerSyst. A
side-effect of this is that once it is refined and some if its code moves
into PyPerSyst, djlib will become one of the examples of how to work with
PyPerSyst to build certain types of applications.
If you are interested in the direction this is moving, I would be happy to
hear your thoughts on how to provide generic user interfaces that dynamically
"build" themselves based on an object model. Specifically, I'm requesting
feedback on the notes I've written in the aforementioned text file, as it
describes the direction I am taking right now. :-)
Also, a short introduction to my involvement with PyPerSyst: I am working on
the same commercial PyPerSyst-using project that Pat is working on. Until
very recently, my focus has primarily been on other aspects of that project.
I'm excited to finally spend some time learning more about PyPerSyst and
contributing to its growth!
I look forward to using it as a foundation for other projects I've had on my
mind but never had time to accomplish because of their perceived complexity.
I am discovering lately that a lot of that complexity can disappear if you do
things a certain way and share thoughts with the right group of people. :)
