Does pypanel have the ability to act as an application launcher as well as a system tray? I've been going nuts trying to find a suitable (light) launcher/starterbar that's also pretty.

Thus far I'm running pypanel and happy as hell, though haven't figured out this launcher business.

Gdesklet's starterbar is buggy, and resource intensive. I'm currenly investigating bbbdock, perlpanel, iconbox, and wmdrawer as possible alternatives.

    Thanks!

    Brice

PyPanel does have a system tray but no application launcher.  However, it can be configured to launch a limited number of applications by clicking on different parts of the panel.  There's an example of starting xclock in the pypanelrc distributed with the source.

If you definetily need a launcher, you could try fbpanel. It is exactly as pretty as your gtk theme.
