    Have you tried the binary installer for Py2.1 yet?

    Uuse either PyOpenGL-1.5.7b1.win32-py2.0.exe or PyOpenGL-
    2.0.0.40beta.win32-py2.1.exe

    If you have and are having problems can you tell me what
    the symptoms are?

    Here is the error message:

    Importing the GLUT library failed.
    The GLUT32.DLL file should be in your PATH
    Consult the documentation for opengl.glut
    for installation suggestions.
    Use the mouse buttons to control some of the dots.
    Hit any key to quit.
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "D:\Python21\OpenGL\Demo\da\dots.py", line 105, in ?
    main()
    File "D:\Python21\OpenGL\Demo\da\dots.py", line 85, in main
    glutInit('foo')
    NameError: global name 'glutInit' is not defined

    I installed with PyOpenGL-1.5.7b1.win32-py2.0.exe.

    I'm trying to use Mesa. My path includes
    d:\mesa-3.4.2\win32\release\glut32;
    and there is a GLUT32.DLL in that directory. I had some problems compiling all of Mesa, but it seems to have
    gotten that far.

    Is there some other GLUT32.DLL I can use?

    Thanks for your help.

    Aha! Just as I thought. You need GLUT. See
    http://reality.sgi.com/mjk/glut3/glut3.html

    Install the dll into /winnt/system32

    Sorry there isn't a note about this in the docs. I hesitate
    to distribute the GLUT dll since one can't get access to
    vercopy from the install script, but I'll try to come up
    with a solution for the future.
