Dear all

I observed a "problem" connected with ray.
First the commands to setup the optics:

cmd.set('cartoon_fancy_helices',1)
cmd.set('cartoon_fancy_sheets',1)
cmd.set('antialias',1)
cmd.set('line_smooth',1.00000)
cmd.set('depth_cue',1)
cmd.set('specular',1.00000)
cmd.set('surface_quality',1.00000)
cmd.set('stick_quality',25.00000)
cmd.set('sphere_quality',2.00000)
cmd.set('cartoon_sampling',14.00000)
cmd.set('ribbon_sampling',10.00000)
cmd.set('ray_trace_fog',1)

Now, I observed the following strange problem.
If I raytrace (via ray or cmd.ray()) a 800x600 picture
from within pymol or pymol-script, it needs approx. 15
minutes to render.
The same picture needs 5 hours from within a python
script! Even, when putting it into a mdo-command-line,
it still needs 2 hours. This seems strange to me.
Any suggestions?
