No, PyMOL can't do this. If you need molecules in a web page, I strongly
recommend Jmol v10: http://jmol.sf.net , which DeLano Scientific officially
endorses as the "tool of choice" for lightweight molecular viewing (in a
Jmol is open-source, high-performance, runs anywhere, and perfectly
complements a heavyweight open-source application like PyMOL. Though not
yet possible, I foresee a time when PyMOL scene and session content will be
directly exportable into Jmol for purposes of "live" web publication of
molecular information. In the meantime however, Jmol does a great job of
supporting the RasMOL/Chime scripting language.
To the extent that companies and other organizations may be hesitant about
adopting an as-yet-commercially-unsupported open-source tool like Jmol as a
piece of critical internal infrastructure, DeLano Scientific LLC stands
ready to help close any gaps that may exist between commercial usage
requirements and the current open-source project.
If the market asks for it, I can almost guarantee that commercial
accountability (such as: a defined legal entity, maintenance and support
terms, feature commitments, insurance coverage, steady funding, etc.) can
and will become available for Jmol, just as it already is for PyMOL.
In my view, Jmol is another tool with an open and unlimited future. Effort
invested in learning it is effort well spent.
