Gerber files ( https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Gerber_format ) are the industry standard for exchanging printer circuit boards informations from designers to manufacturers, it would be nice and useful if pycam would support them
I would highly appreciate a gerber importer for PyCAM!
Personally I am not interested in writing the importer, but I will gladly help anyone willing to work on it.
The only technical condition is that Gerber data can be represented by lines and polygons. Gerber's primitives seem to be ok. The challenging part should be the required combination of multiple Gerber layers into one (including inversion).
