I can't say I've ever tried, but why bother?
Seems like a LOT of people expend way too much mental
energy trying to get their .EXEs down to a single file
which IMHO is a waste of time and energy. Just make it
work, wrap Inno Setup around it and you have a single
setup.exe to distribute that installs several files.
I can't seem to come up with anything other than
trivial examples that don't need other files to go
along with the .EXE anyway (e.g. readme.txt, docs,
.INI files, version history, ...). I also seem to
need to put shortcuts on the desktop, start list,
quick start, make registry entries, start/stop the
services, etc. so you need an installer anyway to
take care of those tasks for the user (and Inno
Setup can do all those things quite easily).
