This is not a py2exe problem. Tkinter has predefined bitmaps, and an image option. Sounds like you may want to use the image option. However the script I sent below will run with the 'question' bitmap. For more info on using bitmaps and images check this website; http;//www.pythonware.com/library/tkinter/introduction/ check widgets like label and button and others that have bitmap options available. The script below runs the bitmap 'question' and will run through py2exe; ######### from Tkinter import Tk, Label root=Tk() label = Label(root, bitmap = 'question', width = 160, height = 160) label.grid() root.mainloop() ############ jim-on-linux http://www.inqvista.com On Saturday 09 December 2006 05:00, Vedran wrote: > Hello, > > I using py2exe for my script installing, and I > have one problem about it,actually the real > problem is > tkinter window iconbitmap: > > import Tkinter > root=Tkinter.Tk() > root.iconbitmap('myicon.ico') # I was try > and with myicon.bmp > > > Then after I install myscript in .exe, and when > I run it I got error in some strange window: > > window title: Error occurred > window message: See the logfile > 'c:\Python24\Lib\site-packages\dist\myscript.ex >e' for details > > and that error "make" in install directory one > .log file, and that file I run with notepad and > in that notepad file > write error: > > Traceback (most recent call last): > File "myscript.py", line 3, in ? > File "Tkinter.pyc", line 1448, in > wm_iconbitmap _tkinter.TclError: bitmap > "myicon.ico" not defined > > > Thanks!!!!!!!!! > > ----------------------------------------------- >----------------- This message was sent using > IMP, the Internet Messaging Program. > > > > ----------------------------------------------- >-------------------------- Take Surveys. |

I'm using ActiveStatePython 2.4 on a Win XP Pro computer. My previous computer was an Win XP Home and I had used the same version of Python and IDE with Py2exe-0.6.9Win32-py2.4.exe, which I'm currently trying to use, to successfully build programs. But now, in the Command Prompt, when I enter "Python setup.py build" all that is produced is the message "running build" and nothing more. Is possible to get more diagnostic information? I have attached my setup file. Any suggestions? |

Very strange - but "setup.py build" isn't actually doing any py2exe work at all - "setup.py py2exe" is what should be used. Regardless, adding the -v flag to setup.py might give you more clues...
