Ok, now I figured out how to make it crash for me, you have to wait for it to crash. I was instantly opening a new window, and it wouldn't crash. When I just selected the text, then closed the About window, then waited it crashed. Now it crashes everytime. Strange...
The crash is happening in Tcl/Tk. For the 0.42 release, the plan is to switch to Tcl/Tk 8.5, let's hope that fixes it.

Ok, I updated Tcl/Tk, and it seems to have fixed this for me. I am on Mac OS X 10.4.11/Intel running 0.40.3-extended-20080620

I haven't been able to reproduce it with Pd-extended 0.41.4-rc* on Mac OS X/Intel 10.5.6 then 10.5.7. Does it still happen for you?
Pd-0.41.4-extended-rc3 still has the issue, tested with os 10.5.7 just follow the instruction in the original bug report.
I've done it about 15 times, and haven't been able to make it crash. You on Intel or PowerPC? Can anyone else reproduce this?
intel - do you want me to do a screen capture of the process? it's fairly simple...
sure, if you want, a screencast can't hurt. The directions seem pretty simple, I am guessing it is somehting with certain setups, perhaps.
this is the console read when it crashes:

Using Pd version 0.42.5-extended-rc3 on Mac OS X10.5.8/Intel, this seems to be fixed.
