No

[sel]
|
[bang]

[symbol(
|
[print]

Prints the symbol twice, if the sequence is auto-patched. If done manually, no duplicate.

v0.43.4 extended, windows 7 x64, intel i7 cpu

Discussion

  • could you provide a fully working patch?

[select] will not output anything on it's own, so instead of outputing doubly, your patch will output nothing at all (unless clicking on [symbol( which i guess does not trigger the problem - else you would have omitted the [sel]-[bang] part).

I think this is a patching problem, not a problem with Pd. I tried the following both with "manual" and "auto" patching on both Pd-extended 0.43.4 & Pd vanilla 0.45.5:

    [X] <-- [tgl]
    |
    [sel 1] <--- and [sel] & [select] & [select 1]
    |
    [bang]
    |
    [symbol(
    |
    [print]

All configurations print "symbol" when the tgl is ticked on so no problems for me. OSX 10.9
