bootp command allways use the bootfile collected via
bootp request, not the specified one:

=> bootp 100000 linux-dbox1
BOOTP broadcast 1
ARP broadcast 1
TFTP from server 192.168.202.1; our IP address is
192.168.202.243
Filename 'ppcboot-dbox1'.
Load address: 0x100000
Loading:
#################################################################
############
done
Bytes transferred = 393102 (5ff8e hex)

this behaviour break this device, because it must first
load the ppcboot via bootp

i think it should be possible to only do a bootp lookup
without loading an image via tftp

This is not a bug, but intended behaviour. The file name
    provided by the
server takes precedence over the one provided on the command
    line.
Some people actually like it that way...

Regarding The comment about address lookup without TFTP:
this is implemented, see the "autoload" environment
    variable.
