LCD Brightness on Toshiba Protege R200

I just recently switched to powersave/kpowersave having been driven mad by klaptop.  I've been very pleased with everything... except brightness control doesn't seem to be functioning.  klaptop was able to do it and I've read on the lists that Toshibas are *supposed* to work.

How exactly do I go about enabling the function?  Alternatively, what information can I provide to make this work in the next release?

    • try "powersave -K" and "powersave -L". This shows you if it is working in the daemon. If it is not, fix it and send a patch ;-))

BTW: it would be easier to discuss this on the mailing lists.
