First of all, ignore my bias just because I'm the Code::Blocks Portable
I reckon that we should get Code::Blocks
Portable<http://portableapps.com/node/18671>and with it MinGW
Portable <http://portableapps.com/node/18601> out the door soon, as they
represent a category which could be very useful, and which has no
representation at the moment in our directory.
There's one question with Code::Blocks Portable, and that is whether we
should now use a custom build or stick with the current version (8.02).
Since 8.02 Biplab, one of the developers, has made it so that it can use
just APPDATA instead of APPDATA and USERPROFILE (see this post in the
in my Code::Blocks
Portable thread <http://portableapps.com/node/18671#comment-116993>).
Naturally, this would be better than my current move-move technique.
However, on the con side is that *possibly* some plugins (especially one
well-known old one) will not respect this new setting. At the moment I'm
thinking that unless they're willing to make an official release in the very
near future, we should stick with my current launcher code.
MinGW Portable has a few issues, but they're all minor things, and I've
posted about them. If sar3th got told to go on to Pre-Release, I think he'd
fix them and do a new release pretty soon.
In summary, then, if you've got spare time, could you please just confirm
what I and Taffin have found at the Release
Code::Blocks Portable, and tell the rest of us if you think it's
ready (and MinGW Portable)?

I don't need a quote in my signature. It's hard enough surviving as it is
without having to find a meaningful quote. Will you forgive me? Or don't
you read this bit?
