Hi

I have just installed poptop1.1.3 on Redhat 7.3
following the instructions from one of
the HOWTO documents.

But I cannot connect to my poptop server from
windows 2000 (professional) client.

Both the client and the server machines are behind the
same firewall(Netopia router also
acts as our firewall). The server is mapped to real IP
using NAT.

The firewall allows connections to port 1723. Also I
have enabled the router to accept
pptp connections (I assume this will enable the GRE
(47) protocol)

This is what I get in the log file (/var/log/messages)

Did you uyse pptpd-1.1.3-1 or pptpd-1.1.3-2?

    BTW this is better:
    alias char-major-108 ppp_generic
    in stead of
    alias ppp0 ppp_generic
    alias ppp1 ppp_generic

Then you don't have to add ppp devices if you have more than
    2 clients.
