In properties file I have a line continuation character
"\" which is correctly handled by Java, but when
storing properties file with popeye, I see that the
property value is trimmed, e.g.

my.key=This is \ the first line, \n \ this is the second

would be stored as:

my.key=This is

Is there any chance that you can fix it (or perhaps
there is an option which fixes it I don't know about)

    Thx, it should be fixed at the next version (0.55).

    But it's only a read/write fix, popeye can't handle multiple
    lines (now).
