This morning, montreal time. I had a conversation with Stephen Fink (One of
the original coders of Poopmup). We talked about the future of where we were
going with the game. The conversation start with a simple question, and them
+ Should we let poopmup die()?
No, I want to see the game live on.
+ Next step, how are we going to procced with the further development of 2.x?
Reuse of code ? Let's forget about 1.x, it was a university project and a
lesson in coding 3d graphics and engines. Let's look for cross-platform
gaming libraries. Let's build ontop of an existing opensource libraries (even
higher level than SDL), and make it primarly a game, not a lesson in codding.
So this is what the conclusion of the short talk was:
We will both research over the weeked for a good game engine that supports
our needs. And we invite you all to do the same. And we will report back to
the mailling list our findings. As we seem that we are limited developers on
the project (Fink and I), your help would be greatly apreciated.
Thank you for your time.
PS : Stephen, should I reffer to you as: Stephen? as Fink ? As [(@)]
finkyhead ? As SF? As Stephen Fink? As Fink, Stephen Fink (ala James Bond) ?
Doodoo meister ?
