I just got this book and I really like it. It's got lots of good real-world advice about how to make things work. The distributed objects chapter starts out by shooting down a bunch of the garbage that vendors always tell you about how great distributed objects are. Haven't read much of the O/R mapping section yet, but it seems useful. Fowler's essay on interative database development got onto Slashdot on Sunday as well. - Perrin |
