I'm attempting to install poesia on my Fedora Core 5 system and im running into
some trouble.

1. Im new to java so im not sure how to install the .jar packages

2. I'm running Gcc-4 and i think that its part of the reason i cant install it

If you can give me some ideas that would be great,

Thanks
Jeremy

Hi, Jeremy!

First of all, as you can see I have forwarded your message to the
group list, and recommend you to send other questions/sugestions to
the group instead of me. There are a lot of people in the group,
so you can get a better and faster answer, and also because doing
that the question and the answer is public for other people with
the same problem.

Anyway, I'll try to do my best :)

.Jar packages haven't to be installed. They are just classes in
Java, compiled and packaged. You just have to put them in the
right directory (that is, if you didn't change anything,
/usr/local/share/poesia/).

It's more important for you to check if Java is correctly installed.
Open a console and write just 'java'. If a lot of information appears,
Java is working. If the console has no idea what you are talking about,
then you'll have to review your Java installation first.

About gcc-4.0, I remember there was a problem with it some months
ago, but I think it was already fixed (Riadh?).

Regards,

Yaiza.
