I'm having a problem with opening mm files created in PocketFreemind with the destop version RC3.
Basically PocketFreemind adds the following line to the start of the XML file .... <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>.
I'm no XML expert, but I would say this is valid, however desktop Freemind borks with ..... "Error while parsing file:freemind.main.XMLParseException: XML Parse Exception during parsing of the XML definition at line 1: Expected: < "
Originally I just deleted this line and all is well.
After some more investigation, I have found that all I need to do is open it in notepad and save and then It's ok.
Is this just some encoding issue ?
The issue is on Windows XP.
I do not have the same issue on Vista
It probably is. Still, the apps (either pocketfreemind or desktopfreemind) should give clearer info/warning on opening/saving different encoding.
